Perhaps this was rehearsed, and not a coincidence: the signals sent by Deutsche Bank’s management team on investor day were well received – almost benevolent, high-fives were exchanged, previous speakers gave the stage to the next board of directors to present results and goals. See, there is unity here. Even seven years after Christian Sewing took over as CEO of Deutsche Bank, this detail still attracts attention. Gone are the days of trench warfare, scandals, and alpha male behavior. Deutsche Bank is once again concentrating entirely on business with its customers. That’s good news. Germany needs strong banks.
