Digital skills and workshops are being conducted to introduce girls to STEM subjects

Assintel is at the forefront in schools to increase girls’ participation in STEM disciplines. The National Association of ICT Companies Confcommercio has started the process of foundation of the project “Small Growing Innovators – Stems like Me”, which was presented this year at Didakta in Florence.

Initiative

This initiative, developed within the Innovation Women 2030 working group, is part of Assintel’s broader commitment to promoting inclusion and digital skills, working with local schools, families and institutions. The project started with a series of workshops dedicated to junior high school students in Lombardy, but the aim is to expand the project throughout the country.

Digitization of the country

This is why Assintel, together with president Paola Generali, launched the appeal: «Our goal is to ensure that every little girl can naturally say: “I want to be a scientist, an engineer, an astronaut”, and that the school system and society accompany her on this path of growth and awareness. This is why I appeal to school managers and teachers of all secondary schools in Lombardy, and throughout Italy: join in en masse, for the future of our girls and for the true digitalization of our country.”
