A larger cruise ship has never been built in Germany. Now they have to show what they can do – while the work is still going on inside.

The swimming behemoth has been sailing off Germany’s North Sea coast since the weekend: The Disney Adventure must prove itself in test maneuvers off the coast of Bremerhaven before it can take paying guests for the first time next spring. Experts check whether the technology and hull meet all requirements.

The fact that the luxury ship now has a mouse logo is due to bankruptcy. Initially this ship was supposed to sail as Global Dream for Asian shipping lines. But Dream Cruises went bankrupt a few years ago – and Disney went bankrupt, too. In Wismar, the ship’s hull was finally completed according to the wishes of the new owner.

However, the project is not going completely smoothly: the first launch with tourists was actually planned for this December, but now we are talking about March 2026. Industry experts suspect that the steel giant will leave for Florida in January, where it will be christened. He would later find his final home in Singapore.

Its dimensions are impressive: the ship is more than 340 meters long and more than 2,300 cabins offer space for almost 7,000 tourists. Seven topics surrounding famous cartoon and film heroes are intended to provide entertainment. No other cruise ship built in this country has comparable dimensions.
