How to add a page to the header navigation menu?

In WordPress, you can create multiple menus and assign it to any location (header, Footer) you want.

Creating A New Menu

  1. Go to Appearance -> Menus
  2. Click on “Create a new menu”
  3. Write a name for your menu in the “Menu Name” field
  4. Click on “Create Menu”

Adding Pages to Menu

  1. Go to Appearance -> Menus
  2. Select the menu you want to edit from “Select a menu to edit:” drop down
  3. Click on “Select”
  4. At the left, you will find a box where all the (Pages, Posts, Custom Post Type, Custom Links, Categories, Tags)
  5. You can add any items you want as a menu item. For example, click on Pages
  6. Click on the tick mark beside page names
  7. Then Click on “Add to Menu”
  8. Now you can click on the items and drag and drop to re-order them
  9. After re-ordering them click on “Save Menu”

Assigning Menu to Header, Footer

  1. Go to Appearance -> Menus
  2. Select the menu you want to edit from “Select a menu to edit:” dropdown
  3. Click on “Select”
  4. Scroll down to “Menu Settings”
  5. Under “Theme locations” you will find two option Primary Menu & Footer Menu
  6. If you want to assign the menu to header, check the tick mark beside “Primary Menu”
  7. Click on “Save Menu”
