France will continue to support Ukraine against Russia, “which must not depend on the exhaustion of European countries”
“The discussions we have had show this: we are ready. Work is progressing at full speed, and by Christmas we will have reached a new, decisive stage. (…) to prevent further Russian aggression, on the day peace is signed, or a ceasefire is reached”said Emmanuel Macron, when talking about the support provided to Ukraine,
France is ready to continue helping Ukraine, stressed the French head of state, “but also to prepare for what will happen next”. “Our support is not limited to the military sector, but also civil, economic and humanitarian”added Emmanuel Macron, who welcomed the signing of the intergovernmental agreement on strengthening bilateral cooperation. “I also welcome the signing of a contract between Alstom and the Ukrainian Railway Company, UZ, worth 475 million euros for the supply of 55 locomotives to Ukraine, with financing from the IBRD and the World Bank”he continued.
“We will also discuss with President Zelensky continuing to create conditions for a just and lasting ceasefire and peace, through two efforts: strengthening support for Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia as long as the country remains resistant to peace.”said the French President again, because “Russia must not depend on the exhaustion of the Europeans”.
