They are back starting today, Saturday 22 November, state incentives for the purchase of electric cars. Starting at 10am, any limits not used in the last 30 days will be available to individuals and businesses (but with some restrictions for businesses) who can access the IT platform to request bonuses. This is the second ‘click day’, following last October 22, with the rush to register for the coveted certificate to take to the dealer to complete the purchase.
The requirements
Before registering on the web platform of the Ministry of the Environment – at www.bonusveicolielettrici.mase.gov.it – you need to check whether you meet a series of requirements. To begin with, it is worth considering that this initiative is intended for those who live or have a registered office in one of the municipalities that are part of the 83 functional urban areas (with a total of 2,260 municipalities in Italy): its aim in fact is to contribute to reducing emissions in places with the greatest urban and industrial concentration.
Another requirement is the removal of the vehicle up to Euro 5 which must be registered in the applicant’s name for at least six months. An important obstacle is income: only individuals with an ISEE of up to 40 thousand euros can access these incentives, while companies with up to 10 employees and an annual turnover or budget of up to 2 million euros can be accepted by the platform. In any case, ownership of an ‘incentivized’ car is required to be maintained for at least twenty-four months.
How to get the bonus
The procedure first involves choosing a bonus, whether the bonus is reserved for individuals for the purchase of an M1 electric car or provided for micro-enterprises for the purchase of an N1 or N2 electric truck. Then you can log in with Spid or Cie (electronic identity card) and enter – if you are an individual – your email address, region, province and city of residence. In the case of regular registration, the voucher amount – equal to 9,000 or 11,000 euros depending on the situation – will be calculated automatically based on the applicant’s ISEE.
Finally, after a final check on the license plate of the car to be removed, you can choose whether to register the voucher in your name or that of a family member you live with (but with a specific tax code). After the final check – provided the funds have not been exhausted – you can click the “create voucher” button: remember that the coupon has an expiration date (valid for 30 days, after which it will be cancelled). However the voucher can be canceled by the user.
