Thinking about Elon Musk makes you both dizzy and anxious. He no longer just wants to build electric cars, solar systems, batteries and tunnels, and not just turn humanity into a “multi-planet species” with his Mars project. One of the most important aspects of Tesla’s almost unexpected new compensation package was that he was supposed to build an army of robots. The robot is called Optimus, and each copy of Optimus is expected to be the best thanks to artificial intelligence (AI); for example, an “extraordinary surgeon,” as Musk put it, “with precision beyond human ability.” Shareholders approved the package, which could raise up to a trillion dollars, on Thursday.
