At the World Cup in Finland, a DSV athlete achieved unexpected success – and also outperformed his partner. On the front lines, Mikaela Shiffrin dominated again.

A good start to the season for Emma Aicher: The 22-year-old finished on the podium for the first time at the Slalom World Cup in Levi, Finland. She finished third behind Mikaela Shiffrin and Lara Colturi – this was the best slalom result of her career. Previously, sixth place was his best result in slalom.

Shiffrin was undefeated in both rounds and confidently secured her 102nd World Cup victory. The American kept Colturi away from Albania by 1.66 seconds. Aicher was 2.59 seconds behind.

Lena Dürr, another German, was still on track for the podium after the first lap, but in the end she narrowly missed out on the podium in fourth place (+2.74 seconds). Jessica Hilzinger (+3.32) was eliminated after the first round. Romy Ertl, daughter of former world champion Martina Ertl, also failed to complete her World Cup debut. The 18 year old racer started the race with starting number 74.
