Enav, at Esg Day focuses on sustainability that creates value – Il Tempo

Rome, November 19 – (Adnkronos) – Esg Day 2025 Enav SpA, the company that manages civil air traffic in Italy, took place at the Foreign Press Association. This event dedicated to the role of sustainability and ESG principles in the financial and business sectors brought together representatives of institutions and the financial world, investors, sustainability experts and stakeholders from the Enav Group, who discussed the evolution of the European regulatory framework and new challenges for companies and markets.

The meeting was opened by Alessandra Bruni, President of Enav, who recalled the importance of the historical moment, characterized by a regulatory adjustment phase as well as new strategic opportunities: “In a phase like this, caught between regulations in the process of adjustment, changing economic priorities and a public debate demanding concrete results, differences emerge between those who consider sustainability as a formal fulfillment and those who consider it a structural element of their industrial strategy. Sustainability is an integral part of the Enav Group and represents the way we create value”.

The Enav Esg Day program includes a discussion between Stefano Lucchini, Head of Institutional Affairs and External Communications of Intesa Sanpaolo and co-author of the book “Ritrovare l’umano – Esg+H”, and Enav Group CEO Pasqualino Monti. This dialogue was inspired by the centrality of the letter “H”, which evokes Health, Humanity and Happiness, three fundamental dimensions for redefining sustainability in more humane and inclusive terms.

Monti focused on the importance of people in the Enav Group’s growth path and the Company’s future vision. The CEO recalled the important recruitment plans for more than 400 air traffic controllers in the coming years and the strategic projects that Enav is implementing in Southern Italy, which aim to create new professional opportunities for young people and strengthen the Group’s presence in the southern region: “As a highly specialized services company, human capital is our real asset. We have launched an important recruitment plan, with a focus on generational change and the attraction of new talents, as innovation and growth through professionalization and training continue. In our sector, technology represents an aid to people, not a substitute. Innovation, if managed well, it does not replace jobs: innovation actually expands them.”

The Enav project, in particular, includes agreements with key universities in Southern Italy, including Palermo and Naples. ENAV contributes to the development of highly specialized training courses according to its operational and technological needs. Thanks to this project, the first recruitment of young people who can work without having to travel has begun. The aim was clear: to offer young people from the South real professional opportunities without forcing them to leave the region, while enhancing local prominence.

During the event, a speech delivered by Patrizia Celia, Head of Large Caps, Investment Vehicles & Sustainable Finance Partnership Borsa Italiana, introduced the main theme that was the focus of the round table “The impact of ESG in the new scenario” – with the participation of Nadia Giuliani from Inarcassa, Concetta Testa from Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and Davide Tassi from Enav. The speakers explored the changes caused by the new European context and the need for companies to adopt integrated ESG strategies oriented towards the value chain, highlighting how, despite the delay in the implementation of some regulations such as CSRD, sustainability continues to represent a competitive factor, reinforced by the sustainable finance market which by 2025 is expected to reach a value of 13.4 trillion dollars.
