The Flotilla case ended up in Parliament, and the question was asked by Cultural Commission President Federico Mollicone. This comes after the Israeli Attorney General’s office submitted an extraordinary request to permanently seize 50 foreign vessels from the Global Sumud Flotilla that attempted to violate the official maritime blockade imposed by the State of Israel on the Gaza Strip, claiming that most of the vessels belonged to Hamas. A decision that confirms what Il Tempo has been writing for months about the unclear ties between Sumud exponents and people linked to the world of Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism.
And this is why the FdI representatives asked the Prime Minister, the Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Justice to clarify “what happened to the money collected in Italy, as well as the food supplies that, according to what the members of the flotilla stated, were going to be sent to the population of Gaza”. But they were also asked to clarify “what initiatives they want to take to verify the relationship between Sumud Flottila and Hamas, also with regard to Mohammad Hannoun, who sponsored the expedition from the start.” What role does he have?”. The leader of the League group on the Defense commission also asked for clarity: «The feeling that behind the Sumud Fleet there might be something more than just the pacifism of a group of young people who appeared from nowhere emerged immediately. You cannot carry out an operation like this without an organization capable of providing strategic direction. If the authenticity of the documents we are talking about can be confirmed, we will now have proof that Hamas exploits everyone, unfortunately also finding space in our world of “antagonism”. Mauizio Gasparri, Fi senatorial president, also confirmed these doubts: «Unfortunately, repeated complaints about the links between Flotilla, the organizations that support it, and Islamic fundamentalist circles remain unheeded. Journalistic reports as well as our interventions in the political arena deserve greater attention.
Perhaps some are not aware of these links, however they exist, they pass through North African countries and show that they are disturbing actions, supported and instigated by Hamas, which was later scandalized by the debate in Israel regarding the death penalty, when they carried out terrorism and also exterminated Palestinians who did not think like them. It’s better to stay on the ground.” The League’s deputy secretary, Silvia Sardone, also wants to see clearly, and has decided to ask the question to the European Parliament: «Where does the humanitarian aid go? And with what money is the expedition organized? The EU member states must clarify what initiatives they want to undertake to shed light on the flotilla and its supporters of Islamic fundamentalism”. Also because, according to a document from the Israeli Ministry of Diaspora that appeared on the pages of Il Tempo, apart from Hamas, other names associated with Palestinian terrorism can be read next to the Flotilla: «Some members of the steering committee of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) participated in meetings with representatives of terrorist organizations designated by the United States, including Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Apart from that, they have also provided funds to several organizations in the Gaza Strip.” The circle is now narrowing.
