The investigation began after reports from the family of the forty-year-old man, who was found unconscious hours after undergoing surgery, advertised as a simple aesthetic treatment. The woman was immediately transported to the San Donato hospital in Arezzo where she underwent repeated resuscitation maneuvers and treated in intensive care was in a medically induced coma for two days.

According to police, the doctor who owned the practice, who was nearing retirement, was fully aware of the collaborator’s lack of qualifications and would tolerate the activity, initially trying to take responsibility for the facts alone. The two suspects were reported for abusive practices of the medical profession and very serious acts of negligence towards their bodies.
