FCN: Rally: Here’s what the Nuremberg bosses had to say about the tax issue! | sport

New place. New number. New hope for the club?

For the first time, the members’ meeting will take place on Tuesday evening (starting at 18.00) at the “Kia Metropol Arena”. 1.FC Nuremberg instead. FCN leaders will present their annual report for the last financial year (2024/2025). Given the record-breaking transfer earnings (Uzun, Jeltsch, Tzimas and Castrop), there should be plenty of positives to report.

However, the AGM is still overshadowed by anger over free VIP cards that have allegedly been incorrectly or not taxed at all for years (BILD and “kicker” report). Nuremberg finance boss Stefan Heim (55) explained on the sidelines of the balance sheet review that members should not expect new information on this topic – even when asked.

Heim: “We will discuss the reporting of the last few days at the AGM. We are happy to make it clear once again that tax compliance is the club’s top priority. Clubs like FCN have been and are regularly and thoroughly audited by the tax authorities for all types of taxes, and that is a good thing. That is why we are in constant contact with the tax authorities and always work with them in an open and transparent manner. The club also wants to be a reliable and trustworthy partner here.”

Heim would certainly be more willing to provide information on other topics. Apart from the balance sheet figures, the finance boss will also discuss the current status of the desired stadium renovation. FCN still plans to complete it in 2031 (construction starts in 2028).

Heim will also promote “strategy change” (Heim) at Marketing GmbH. In the future, the subsidiary will again be closely linked to the club through a profit transfer agreement (GAV).

It will be interesting to see whether the application from former supervisory board member Günther Koch (83) will also be accepted. The radio legend called for “comprehensive transparency” also for the financial reports of its subsidiaries. At least 75 percent of all members present must agree to GAV and Koch’s proposal.

The selection of the supervisory board will likely be less interesting. Only five candidates applied for the three vacant positions. The current incumbents (Hummel, Bisping, Gunkler) are clear favorites for another term (until 2028).
