Pilot procedures in Berlin
In Berlin, the trial of four suspected Hamas members has been underway since February before the State Security Senate’s first Chamber Court. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office accused them of being foreign operators responsible for the creation or liquidation of arms depots in several European countries.
The highest prosecuting authority spoke about the pilot procedure. “For the first time in Germany, people are facing charges of participating as members of the foreign terrorist organization Hamas,” federal prosecutor Jochen Weingarten said at the start of the trial. So far the negotiation date has been scheduled for the end of March 2026.
