They have “most acknowledge the fact”according to the court in Mönchengladbach (west). A German court handed down sentences ranging from five and a half to ten and a half years in prison on Monday, November 10 to five operators of the child pornography platform, which has hundreds of thousands of users.

The five men, aged 44 to 63, were charged with public distribution in an organized group and possession of child pornographic content between 2019 and 2024, as moderators or administrators of the “Alice in Wonderland” platform (the English name ofAlice in Wonderland) on the darknet, according to an indictment published in October. Police confiscated more than 1,500 items of evidence, including computers and cell phones. The court ordered the preventive detention of one of the defendants due to the high risk of re-offending.

Before being shut down in September 2024 by German authorities, the platform distributed child pornographic content and allowed users to connect, possibly committing sexual violence against children. One of the administrator’s duties is “ensuring that users are made unrecognizable in content they themselves produce to make subsequent criminal prosecution more difficult”according to the indictment. The defendants also provided child pornographic content on the platform, in some cases involving babies as young as one year old.
