Three men and a woman allegedly responsible for disrupting the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance at the Paris Philharmonie were charged on Sunday, November 9, according to information provided by the Paris prosecutor’s office to Agence France-Presse (AFP).
On Thursday, ticket-buying spectators disrupted the concert several times, including twice with the use of smoke bombs. The Cité de la musique-Philharmonie de Paris said it had filed a complaint and condemned it “very serious incident” took place in the great Pierre-Boulez concert hall.
Many offenses were brought before the judge: “degrading the property rights of others in a way that is harmful to the person”, “endangering others”, “detention without lawful reasons and prohibited by prefectural decree of incendiary products”, “organization of demonstrations on public highways without notification”, “refusal to submit identification records integrated into the police file by persons suspected of committing a crime”, “violence with the use or threat of weapons”. Prosecutors said they had requested the placement of the defendant under judicial supervision, with a ban on appearances in Paris, in the surrounding area and at theaters.
Furthermore, on Saturday afternoon, pro-Palestinian groups gathered to provide support in front of the 19th police station.e district where the four were interviewed, according to a police source at AFP.
Pro-Israel groups joined them and a fight broke out between them. Police officers intervened to separate them and three of them were injured, according to the same source, who added that three pro-Israel activists and one pro-Palestinian activist were arrested.
The first three were arrested “for insulting, violence against a person in a position of public authority” and taken into police custody. The pro-Palestinian activist was later arrested for making anti-Semitic statements, according to AFP sources.
