The attack was mainly directed at Jürgen Illing. As Honorary Consul of Hungary, he stands “together with his wife Nicola Beer, former Secretary General of the FDP and Vice President of the European Investment Bank, as representatives of the unholy and lying mixture of capital and fascism that has become unbearable for us.”

They accused the EU banker and honorary consul of “Orban understanding” and being “part of the right-wing elite”.

Illing and Beer would not comment to BILD so as not to hinder the investigation, citing state security.

Klemens Hahn, spokesman for police headquarters FrankfurtBILD confirmed: “The State Security Commissioner is investigating the matter for suspected property damage.”
