Gaddafi’s son was released on bail after serving 10 years in a Lebanese prison

Libya has always denied involvement in this case.

The decision by the country’s judicial authorities to lift the travel ban and reduce bail by $11 million came just days after a Libyan delegation visited Lebanon, and made progress in negotiations to free Gaddafi.

In mid-October, a Lebanese judge ordered Gaddafi released on $11 million bail but barred him from leaving Lebanon. His lawyer had stated at the time that he did not have the money and had requested permission to leave the country. Last week, bail was reduced to 80 billion Lebanese pounds (about $900,000) and the travel ban was lifted, allowing the man to leave the country after payment was made.
