HBL: Transfer fees for handball captains available! HSV has a successor | sport

He finished in Hamburg – a year earlier than planned!

Andreas Magaard (27) leaves Daikin Handball-Bundesliga and HSV Handball in the summer of 2026 and moves back to his homeland in Denmark.

According to BILD information, the pivot withdrew its exit clause on time last weekend – until November 15. This must be done in writing.

His new old club: GOG Handbold! Magaard once started his career there. According to BILD information, there is a fixed transfer fee: 75,000 euros. At GOG he replaces national player Henrik Jakobsen (32) who moved to Fredericia HK.

“On GOG I have it all Handball-I did the training and took away many good values: community, family. GOG is a family club – GOG is a family,” enthused Magaard, who kept his departure private.

When BILD was asked what he could say about changes in 2026, Magaard explained with a smile: “None. I will not respond to rumours. If it’s official, then it’s official. If there’s nothing official, then it’s unofficial…”

His reluctance is understandable – both clubs would have to announce the move officially. It won’t be long before a common language will be found. Sports director Jogi Bitter (43) confirmed to BILD: “We are discussing with Andreas and his advisors and looking for a solution.”

HSV has long reacted to Magaard’s departure and is waiting for his replacement. Coach Torsten Jansen (48) on Dyn: “Of course we’re looking forward to it and it looks pretty good. And I hope we can announce something soon, when it’s really official.” According to Bitter, this should happen “before Christmas”.

Magaard returns home – and is promoted in sport! The reason is that GOG, including stars such as Mathias Gidsel, Simon Pytlick and Mikkel Hansen, plays in the Champions League.

“I’ve been saying for years that I want to play in Europe, and that was also my goal with Hamburg. As a handball player you always want to play at the highest level – and that is the Champions League. That’s a dream I’ve had for a long time,” explained Magaard in an interview with BILD after the defeat in Göppingen (25:29). “It was our worst performance of the season.”

Magaard makes his European dreams come true with GOG. And with the national team?

“There hasn’t been any contact with coach Nikolaj Jacobsen (also a star at GOG, editor). But of course I play handball and train every day because I want to represent my country. I know it’s not easy to get into the Danish national team. There are four, five or six world-class players in every position. And it’s hard to change anything when the team always wins.”

In his position, besides professional favorites Magnus Saugstrup (Magdeburg), Lukas Jörgensen (Flensburg) and Simon Hald (Aalborg), he also fights against Emil Bergholt (moved from Sjkern to Flensburg in 2026) and Frederik Ladefoged (moved from Bucharest to Paris in 2026). Magaard has accepted the fight, although he knows: “The competition is very tight.”
