“Health, business and development for young people: our response to Veneto’s needs”

Luca De Carlo, senator of the Brothers of Italy, is going all out in regional elections in Veneto, where center-right candidates Alberto Stefani, from the League, and Giovanni Manildo, an expression of the center-left, will compete.

How heavy is the responsibility to lead, as a coalition, a field with such high indicators?

“This should be a stimulus to always do better, also thanks to the ruling class that has grown in the region in recent years. It is not only the Fdi, but the entire center-right wing that can therefore guarantee continuity and make the region even more developed: let’s think about exports, which have more than 16 thousand companies. A context that we want to improve further through the Veneto Sviluppo tool: the modernization process of companies focused on innovation and targeted projects, to the Veneto basket bond instrument.”

Health care is also an election campaign issue.

“After the cuts carried out by the left-wing government, which in 10 years has cut more than 35 billion, in the last three years alone the Meloni government has invested more than 21 billion. 370 thousand to 640 thousand in 2050, a figure that requires greater attention to local health services.”

The region has many UNESCO heritage sites: what role can these sites play in the season of the new government?

“We must continue to promote this great wealth, while supporting all the associations and entities that, out of love for their land, organize events and initiatives that lead to the discovery of stories, traditions and little-known places. Then we cannot forget the role of food and wine: if Italy is the country that has the world record for the number of PDO and PGI products with 891 registered denominations, Veneto with 18 PDOs and as many PGIs, to which is added the Specialty Guarantee of territorial and wine excellence, it is a leader in Italy”.

But there is still little talk about the younger generation and skills.

“Entrepreneurship and training. For the former, the new Veneto Sviluppo will have a decisive role, as we imagine, it will not only accompany the company in its generational transition, but also give birth to a spirit of independent entrepreneurship among young people, supporting them on the path that leads to the birth of new start-ups.”

Abstentionism remains a critical issue, even in Veneto.

“Speaking of real issues: Venetians need to hear answers to their questions. Health care, jobs, transport, employment, agriculture: these are issues that Venetians experience directly every day.

Concreteness, coherence and pragmatism: these are the qualities recognized in the Fdi and that the Venetians appreciate in President Giorgia Meloni whom I without hesitation define as the most Venetian of Roman politicians; a politician who – instead of speaking to the stomachs of his people – speaks to their heads and hearts.”
