The Senate is nearing the end of its examination of the Social Security budget and health professionals risk gnashing their teeth if certain measures remain in place. In fact, an article in the Social Security Financing Bill (PLFSS) provides for mandatory vaccination against influenza for nursing home residents as well as for health professionals working in a private capacity, “in accordance with the recommendations of the High Health Authority”it is determined. The senators ultimately adopted the second point, unlike the deputies, but ruled out mandatory vaccination in nursing homes, considering “there are no real consequences (…) that can be derived from refusing vaccination”. The High Authority for Health should make its recommendations for vaccination of health professionals in the spring.
