Salah Abdeslam’s former partner, the sole survivor of the November 13 commando, is suspected of planning a terrorist attack on French soil, along with his new partner and another 17-year-old young woman. It was an examination of their cellphones that led investigators to track them down.

Did Maéva B., Salah Abdeslam’s former partner, plan the attack? That’s the opinion of investigators who listened to him during his six days in police custody. Maéva B., 27, was described as being fascinated by jihad, a profile that worried intelligence agencies. “He is under investigation. This kind of profile is definitely one of the people we should target.”said Céline Berthon, Director General of Homeland Security.
Maéva B. and Salah Abdeslam had a letter-writing relationship, then a romantic relationship, for eight years. According to the prisoner’s lawyer, this story is over. Salah Abdeslam knew nothing about this terrorist project. “Since April 2025, the relationship has ended. They no longer see each other, no longer contact each other, no longer have a relationship. Moreover, the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office explicitly said in its press release that Salah Abdeslam was in no way connected with the planned actions against the people.” assured I am Olivia Ronen, Salah Abdeslam’s lawyer.
After the couple met last December in the visiting room of Vendin-le-Vieil (Pas-de-Calais), where Salah Abdeslam is imprisoned, the plan for the violent action was revealed. On a computer without Internet access that the prisoner used to take the course, prison officials found videos from ISIS, files downloaded using four USB keys sent during the visiting room by Maéva B.. In front of investigators, the suspect confessed. “Maéva B. admitted to having obtained a USB key, loaded it with jihadist propaganda and gave it to Salah Abdeslam while in the visiting room”, demonstrated national anti-terrorism prosecution.
After this affair, an investigation was carried out on Maéva B., that’s when a terrorist project was detected and two alleged accomplices were identified: a 20-year-old man, Maéva B.’s new husband, who lived in Isère, and a 17-year-old minor, who lived in Hérault. Monday, November 10 evening, anti-terrorism prosecutors requested their indictment and placement in pre-trial detention. Maéva B.’s lawyer did not wish to speak.
