Management chaos at TSG Hoffenheim continues. Now even the coach is putting pressure on his boss.
The background is the departure of sporting director Andreas Schicker (39) to VfL Wolfsburg. Sebastian Rudolph (49), head of Wolves’ supervisory board, met with Hoffenheim protector Dietmar Hopp (85) on Wednesday. He met at the St. John’s golf club. Leon-Rot is his for transfer negotiations.
Before the match in Mainz on Friday evening, Hoffenheim coach Christian Ilzer (48) commented on the possible separation of his friend and boss.
President Hainer comments: Bayern is “optimistic” about extending the contract with THIS player
Ilzer on Sky: “If Andi Schicker leaves, I certainly hope that the general condition will continue to improve.”
At his pre-match press conference, Ilzer avoided making any clear commitments regarding his own whereabouts. At Mainz he put things in perspective: “I am not attached to Andreas Schicker as a person, although we have a very good friendship. I am attached to the achievements Andreas Schicker has achieved over the years.”
From a sporting point of view, everything is going well for the Hoffenheim team, but recently there have been problems only at the management level. Two managing directors had to resign and the president stepped down, officially for health reasons. Patron Hopp argued with the club about how to deal with player agent Roger Wittmann.
If the sports director and coach also leave, the chaos will be complete…
