A good month after major surgery POLICE In Brandenburg, in the case of Rebecca from Berlin, who has been missing for more than six and a half years, individual reports are still being received from the public. The matter will be investigated, a spokesman for the Berlin prosecutor’s office said. In addition, traces confiscated during a large-scale search in Brandenburg last October are still being evaluated.
Authorities say they are investigating whether the tracks are actually connected to Rebecca’s death. The evaluation is expected to take several weeks. According to the district attorney’s office, a total of more than 3,200 tips have been received from the public since the girl’s disappearance.
Rebecca, then 15 years old, disappeared on the morning of February 18 2019 in Berlin’s Britz district in the Neukölln district. Investigators have long suspected that his now 33-year-old brother-in-law killed the teenager. The man denies this.
Two day search operation
In October, Berlin police were in southeastern Berlin for two days Berlin used in the Tauche and Rietz-Neuendorf communities. Investigators first checked the property belonging to the brother-in-law’s grandmother. The next day they took a closer look at the nearby area where the grandfather and grandmother supposedly lived until 2005.
The police office and prosecutor’s office justified the operation by saying there was evidence that the main suspect killed the teenager in February 2019 and took her body and belongings to a property in Tauche, at least temporarily.
