Mulled wine prices are increasing nationwide. Visitors to Hanover also have to dig deeper into their pockets – but not as much as elsewhere.

Mulled wine has become more expensive at the Hanover Christmas market this year. According to the latest analysis by “Coupons.de”, which compares prices at more than 50 Christmas markets nationwide, the average value in 2025 will be 4.54 euros per cup – about seven percent higher than the previous year.

Visitors to Hanover are also experiencing this trend. At the traditional market in the old town and in the Roncalli Christmas village at the main train station, prices are usually around four and a half euros per cup. Some shops charge more, especially for specialty varieties or organic wines. In addition, there are deposits that have been increased in many places and can now reach five euros.

Prices remain slightly cheaper in Lister Meile, where the price of a cup of wine is often below the city average. So if you compare it, it can be economical. For comparison: In 2023, most prices in Hanover are still around four euros, and some stalls even offer mulled wine for 3.50 euros.

The slight increase in 2025 is in line with the national trend of rising energy and purchasing costs – but compared to metropolitan cities such as Munich or Hamburg, Hanover is still in the middle range in terms of prices.
