World record hunters have set a spectacular record in Hamburg. All eight record attempts were successful, including catching the ax without protective gloves.

Two days before official Guinness World Records Day, world record hunters achieved a spectacular record in Hamburg. The athletes set a new record in eight attempts.

Taekwondo athlete Palina Glebova achieved three records. The 29-year-old player kicked twelve plastic bottles he threw with his feet at least three meters away with a side kick. Together with martial artist Joe Alexander, he set a team record: he threw 13 darts with his feet, which his partner caught in the air. He also broke 16 boards in jump shots. Palina Glebova was overwhelmed: “This is crazy. I never thought I could do this.”

Joe Alexander achieved his 60th world record by catching 11 raw eggs with chopsticks from a distance of two meters. The world record holder explains: “I always think about things that have never existed before.” The idea came to him while eating at an Asian restaurant.

His attempt to catch the ax from a distance of four meters without protective gloves was very risky. Alexander warned: “It was very dangerous. I don’t know if I would make this recording again. It would not be advisable to try it again.”

Quickborn’s Jens Gaude surpassed his own world record. He breaks 84 coconuts in one minute with his elbow. “I’m proud to be able to do it again,” Gaude said happily after the effort. The next goal is the 100 coconut mark.

The youngest record holder comes from Kaiserslautern: eleven-year-old Orell Herzog kicked 31 cans off his father’s head. The Taekwondo black belt student trains six times a week and started when he was just two years old. “It’s a really cool feeling. I’m proud of myself,” the boy said.

Robin Kiera from Reinbek near Hamburg set a social media record. While jumping rope, he caught the phone and took a selfie – a total of five selfies in one minute. Kiera commented with a laugh: “Sometimes you have to jump over your shadow to get really good content – and sometimes it’s over the ropes.”
