“For me, Vannacci is one of the many people who has the cards, has the law in his hands and knows that this is how it works, the rules are clear to everyone, and so are I and he is too”. So, on ’24 Mattino’ on ‘Radio 24’, Luca Zaia, president of the Veneto Region, regarding the League’s deputy secretary Roberto Vannacci.
Zaia later added: “All of us militants respect the rules of the party and be militants. Identity is fundamental, we have to maintain the identity of the League: think of the people, be liberal, progressive, autonomous. I have experienced better times in the League and even worse, but I have seen it like this in all parties on the political scene of the country.”
Regarding posts on social media in which Vannacci rewrites the history of the march on Rome and the racial laws, Zaia responded: “I haven’t seen the post, I don’t respond to anything unseen, but I think the racial laws were one of the worst periods in history, 6 million people, Jews, gypsies, gays, disabled people, were sent to be massacred in concentration camps. We have an epidemic of racial laws that we will never be able to eradicate.”
