On the day of death Ornella Vanoni united music remembering the pillars of Italian music. Also among the artists who shared farewell messages on social media Marracashrapper from Nicosia who has repeatedly expressed his ‘interest’ in Vanoni.
A video from 2024 went viral in “We know you like Marracash,” they asked him. “Yeah, he’s a nice guy… I thought he was really cool and I told him ‘I would throw you against the wall if I were thirty years younger…'”, answered Ornella Vanoni, with her usual irony, giving him one of her never-to-be-forgotten ‘pearls’.

And what Vanoni said was true. The reason is that in 2023 the singer was invited to dinner by Marracash to spend the evening together at the restaurant. Sitting opposite each other, Ornella admitted to the rapper that if she were a few years younger she would try, and then added: “But we wouldn’t get along, because I’m sad too. You’re sad, I’m sad, disaster.”
On the day of his death, the singer was paid tribute by Marracash on social media: “Hello my friend”, wrote the rapper, which he quoted in the song ’64 Bars’ (“When I leave the meeting, I smoke with Vanoni”).
