In France, there is a younger, less experienced but more unpredictable jihadist terrorist threat

Ten years after the November 13 attacks in Paris and Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), the terrorist threat in France remains high, although it has changed completely. France remains a major target of Sunni jihadism, but this threat is currently posed less by organizations such as the Islamic State (ISIS) or Al-Qaeda, whose central command has been greatly weakened by military action, than by individuals inspired by such action.

We are now in the “terrorist-inspired” era, which takes advantage of the abundance of propaganda that still circulates online and on Telegram. The “automotive entrepreneurs” in this terrorism are based in France, young, even very young, often socially isolated, and sometimes victims of psychological disorders.

They act in a simple way: three-quarters of the attacks carried out since 2020 in France were carried out using edged weapons. According to data compiled by intelligence agencies, two-thirds of the perpetrators of attacks carried out since 2020 were “no specific documentation known”. Obviously, they are not recorded anywhere. They act independently by determining their own targets, without waiting for orders.
