Air traffic was stopped for several hours on Saturday evening, November 22, at Eindhoven international airport, Netherlands, due to an unidentified drone flight, the Minister of Defense said.
These unexplained overflights have multiplied in continental Europe in recent weeks, particularly in Germany, Belgium and Denmark.
In Eindhoven, the second largest airport in the Netherlands, traffic “civil and military” suspended around 9 p.m. because of reports from “multiple drones”said Minister Ruben Brekelmans on social networks “take action” for him to continue, “but at this time, for security reasons, cannot provide more information about how he is proceeding”he explained.
Authorities also announced that they had attempted to shoot down a drone flying over the Volkel airbase in the southeast of the country on Friday evening. “The drone left and was not found”they added.
