INPS: women are paid -29% compared to men

In 2024, of the 17.7 million people who had at least one day of paid work in the non-agricultural private sector, women were paid an average of 19,833 euros. Data shows that women’s wages are 29% lower than men, who are paid an average of 27,967 euros. The calculation is carried out by the sector’s INPS Observatory. The average working day is 247: 251 for men, 11 less for women. The Observatory highlights that remuneration is affected by the greater use of part-time work by women, job insecurity and lower qualifications.
