Interrogations of Federico Soldani and Simone Grassi, the lawyers who in 2017 defended Andrea Sempio when he was questioned for the first time over the murder of Chiara Poggi on August 13, 2007, are expected to take place in Brescia. The investigation is at the heart of the Lombardia Prosecutor’s Office investigation into former deputy prosecutor Mario Venditti and Andrea Sempio’s father for corruption in judicial documents. The hypothesis, as is known, is an alleged bribe of 20 or 30 thousand euros to archive files from 8 years ago. Investigators suspect that the money reached the former prosecutor through someone, perhaps Sempio’s lawyer who will be questioned today.

Sempios has always said that the money transferred from that checking account and contested today by the district attorney’s office was used to pay the attorneys. Massimo Lovati, Sempio’s former long-time lawyer, confirmed this version but for investigators, the figure is too high compared to the cost of several months of work and for this reason they now want to hear the entire defense team. “It is possible that the investigation could be expanded in the next few hours,” explained TgLa7. In short, the acceleration may have occurred while Lovati’s lawyer announced that he would go to the prosecutor’s office to ask if his client was officially under investigation in the file.

“On Tuesday I will be at the Prosecutor’s Office in Brescia to understand whether Lovati’s lawyer is under investigation or not”, lawyer Fabrizio Gallo told AGI, “I want to clarify things as they are. I will go to the Prosecutor’s Office in Brescia alone, Lovati will not come. At the moment, I can say that he will not use professional secrecy but we need to understand in what capacity he will be heard. Maybe the investigators want to listen first to lawyer Federico Soldani, and then him”.
