Investigative team in Münster: Prosecutor “Tatort” says goodbye: “After that we celebrate”

His last appearance was in «Crime scene»Münster as TV prosecutor Wilhelmine Klemm will watch Mechthild Großmann on the cinema screen. Most of the cast came to the cinema in Münster a few days before the first screening (December 7), as the 76-year-old revealed to the German Press Agency. “And then we celebrate.”

“We are all very nice to each other,” said the actress, referring to the “Tatort” team consisting of Axel Prahl as Chief Inspector Frank Thiel and Jan Josef Liefers as Professor Karl-Friedrich Börne. “We definitely like each other too.”

But after about 23 years it was all over for them. In early 2024, Großmann and WDR announced that the chain-smoking, non-conformist TV prosecutor Klemm would come out with an episode of “The Invention of the Wheel.”

The prosecutor was spared death on TV

He always enjoyed playing the role, Großmann said. But TV prosecutors have now also reached an older age. “Typically Ms. Klemm has been retired for twelve years.” In her final performance, an unknown side is revealed: the rude Wilhelmine Klemm dances at home in a red dress, sips champagne, does not smoke, seems to be in seventh heaven.

Großmann said he was particularly happy about one thing: before filming, there was a question about whether he wanted to go with a TV death, like some of the characters in other “Tatort” series. “Then I said I don’t really want to die. But if that’s what you want, then I’ll die too. I think it’s fine if I don’t die now.”
