IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir on Sunday evening announced the dismissal of several officers for their role in the October 7, 2023 fiasco.
Most of the dismissed commanders had already resigned from the IDF, thus making Zamir’s actions were largely symbolic.
The Times of Israel reported that Zamir deleted:
1) former Head of the Military Intelligence Directorate Major General (reserve) Aharon Haliva who announced his resignation in April 2024 and then it happened replaced in August of the same year;
2) Former Head of the Operations Directorate, Major General Oded Basiuk, who resigned from the TNI at the end of his term in July;
3) former head of Southern Command, Major General Yaron Finkelman, who announced his resignation in January, before being replaced in Line up.
