Jara and Kast advanced to the second round of Chile’s presidential election, based on partial results


The ruling center-left coalition’s candidate, Jeannette Jara, won 26.71% of the vote, versus 24.12% for her ultraconservative opponent, José Antonio Kast, according to results that included 83% of the votes counted. They are scheduled to face each other in the second round on December 14.
