A judge in the Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona) sent the man accused of killing his mother by throwing her from the window of an apartment in that city to provisional prison yesterday evening, with notice and without bail. The case against the man is open for a possible crime of murder, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC),
The Mossos, who investigated the case as domestic violence, arrested the 54-year-old man on the same day as the events, last Wednesday, the 19th, and on Thursday the court decided to extend his detention for 24 hours, until yesterday, Friday.
The events occurred after midnight on Wednesday, when the Mossos were alerted that there was a woman on the street with signs of violence. Crews from the Mossos and the Hospitalet Urban Guard, as well as members of the Medical Emergency System, responded to the scene and transferred her to a health center, where she ultimately died.
On site the officers found a 54-year-old man, son of the victim, arrested by the traffic police for his alleged connection with the events. The case then passed into the hands of the Mossos, who officially reported the arrest in the afternoon.
