As a ZDF pundit, Jürgen Klopp thrilled TV audiences for years. Next year he will celebrate his return – for another channel.

Jürgen Klopp will work as an expert for MagentaTV on the 2026 World Cup. Telekom CEO Rodrigo Diehl announced this in a “Kicker” interview. The broadcaster had previously signed Thomas Müller. “In addition to Thomas Müller, Jürgen Klopp is also part of our team of experts. He represents pure football and is a world coach who has written incredible success stories with Dortmund and Liverpool. Together with him and Thomas Müller, we already have two top experts,” explained Diehl.

For Klopp, this is a return to this role. From 2005 to 2008 he was a ZDF expert and, together with presenter Johannes B. Kerner and referee Urs Meier, analyzed, among other things, the German national team’s play at the 2006 World Cup and 2008 European Championship.

With his tactical knowledge and talent for conveying that knowledge to television viewers in simple words, Klopp knows how to inspire. However, after the European Championship, he fully focused on his new job as head coach of Borussia Dortmund and returned to RTL for the 2010 World Cup, then alongside Günther Jauch. Klopp is currently the “Global Head of Football” at Red Bull and has a contract with the drinks company until the end of 2029.

It remains unclear whether Klopp and Müller will be seen together. “It really depends on the December 5 draw in Washington,” Telekom boss Diehl said on “Kicker.” But he is confident: “If Thomas Müller and Jürgen Klopp really stand in front of the camera together, the whole world of German football will be listening closely.”
