Kaisermania will no longer be shown on TV from 2026: The reason is surprising | News

Dresden – The date for Kaisermania 2026 has now been set, but many Roland Kaiser fans are still disappointed. For the first time in years, the outdoor spectacle will not be broadcast live on television.

The Emperor took longer than usual to announce the date of his big performance. Even worried… Kaisermania could be canceled next year. But about a week ago the official confirmation came: Dresden will again be under a state of music emergency for two weekends in the summer of 2026.

Tickets have been available exclusively from Eventim since Tuesday. Just hours after pre-sales started, it said: “Currently not available.” As usual, the increase is very large and currently there is no certainty whether the quota will still be issued.

There are no live broadcasts on MDR

The news now circulating is even more bitter: Kaisermania will no longer be shown on MDR television in the future! The pop star himself and the organizers of the mega event have decided together with the broadcaster to stop broadcasting live on TV from 2026, you can read about it on the Kaisermania homepage. This also applies to live broadcasts.

It goes on to say: “While the live experience has always been a musical highlight for local audiences, unfortunately this cannot be delivered with the same quality on television.” There are always criticisms, especially regarding sound quality.
