That twins Alice and Ellen Kessler died together at their home in Germany: they were going to commit assisted suicide, according to the Bild newspaper. The Kessler sisters are 89 years old. They were found in the house where they lived, in Gruenwald, near Munich, next to each other, in two neighboring apartments, separated only by a sliding wall. Police will be notified later today, after both women died. Upon arrival, officers can only confirm death and exclude third party liability. Assisted suicide, Bild reminds us, is a permitted practice under German law under certain conditions.
Twins Ellen and Alice Kessler are called the “legs of the nation” in Germany. They were born in 1936 in Nerchau, Saxony, near Leipzig. Here they begin to take part in Opera ballet from childhood.
