Maurizio Landini attack again. The spotlight is on maneuver in the television room “On Tuesday”The CGIL Secretary General clearly used a harsh tone, especially regarding the tax amnesty: “Landini or CGIL didn’t say it. The Court of Auditors and the Bank of Italy said it. In the parliamentary session the Bank of Italy and the Court of Auditors actually said that the amnesty was useless. Instead it gave a slap in the face to those who pay taxes and from a certain point of view the State becomes a sponsor for those who don’t pay taxes.” In his tirade, Landini also argued that this approach risks spreading the idea of impunity: “There was this idea that if I didn’t pay taxes, nothing would happen to me, because sooner or later they would give me amnesty and when I finally paid, I paid much less than I should have paid.”
According to Landini, the government will move without a strategy: “We’re broke”his decision, complete with criticism of several amendments included in the maneuver: “This amendment also gives me the picture that we are a government that is not producing results. We are not producing results. Because instead of having a vision and thinking about the future very seriously, they are trying to take money like crazy, so I would put it in a more elegant way, without addressing the fundamental problem.” The accusation is inconsistency with election promises: “You can’t say one thing and then when you get into government you do the opposite. Because this means you’re making fun of people. Didn’t they make it clear that they were going to cancel Fornero? Yes, we are the country that raised the highest retirement age.”
The CGIL leader then accused what he defined an imbalance that favors wealthier groups. “When you are in power, you smooth the hair of those who are better off, and not the hair of those who are worse off.” he charged, connecting these considerations with the call for a general strike on 12 December. He responded to criticism of the date and method of mobilization as follows: “People who go on strike give up their wages, no matter whether it’s Monday or Tuesday.”. The protest, he said, was born from “NO” to policies that will specifically affect employees and are aimed at that “wage increase” yes “real tax reform”.
Finally, a comment regarding health services, indicated as an emergency priority: “Public health is a right that must be guaranteed, so you have to invest in it if you want to help society in a real way. They are not doing it and for this reason we need to go on strike and take to the streets”.
