Tellado attacks TVE and journalist Silvia Intxaurrondo: “Today is a very difficult day for TVE”

This Friday, Miguel Tellado accused public radio and television of manipulating information during an interview given on the program On the morning of 1 of Spanish Television, presented by journalist Silvia Intxaurrondo. The general secretary of the PP criticized the information treatment that RTVE is doing on the Supreme Court ruling against the state attorney general, Álvaro García Ortiz. “Today we see how TVE attacks the judiciary (…) Today is a very difficult day for TVE,” Tellado said. “The Attorney General was convicted of using his position to attack a political rival and today we see how TVE attacks the judiciary. What kind of democracy are we in? They should do a very in-depth analysis of a medium that Spaniards pay for with taxes.”

Regarding the prosecutor’s conviction, he stated that it is an “unprecedented event, of brutal, enormous, tremendous gravity” and accused Pedro Sánchez of appointing him and keeping him in office and “of attempting to influence the position of the magistrates.” “Today in Spain we have a state attorney general who is a criminal,” said Tellado, who understands that “he was condemned for using his position to engage in politics to the advantage of Pedro Sánchez and his party and for attacking a political rival of the PP,” referring to Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

For Tellado, it is crucial that García Ortiz has wiped his devices, even though he said he does so periodically for safety. “If the state attorney general deleted his emails or his cell phone, it is probably because he was hiding who gave him the order, who gave him instructions to commit a crime,” he said, referring to the prime minister.
