Morant says Mazón will once again be “represented” in Congress

The general secretary of the PSPV and minister of Science, Innovation and University, Diana Morant, assured on Monday that the president of the Generalitat of Calencia, Carlos Mazón, will be “portrayed” again in the commission of inquiry into the question of the Congress, in which he will be called to testify this Monday, and at the same time reiterated his request for elections in the Valencian Community because, in his opinion, the square is calling for the resignation of the entire autonomous government.

The leader of the Valencian socialists warned Mazón that at the Congress she will not be able to read a “pre-written speech” as she did in her statement to Las Cortes Valencianas. “He will have to give answers” to the parliamentary groups, he said in an interview with Telecinco.

Morant stressed that, although Mazón has resigned as head of the Generalitat, “he is still the president” – in office – and “continues to earn also” as a deputy, so he continues to be a member of the public. Likewise, he recalled that he is the leader of the PP in the Valencian Community, “the one in charge”, and “he has designated who he wants to be his successor, (Juanfran Pérez Llorca), who is his right-hand man, who is the possible candidate that both Vox and the Popular Party are aiming for”.

“For us this is not a valid solution,” underlined the minister, recalling that “Valencian society has taken to the streets every 29 days” to ask, in her opinion, for the resignation of the Consell and the calling of early elections. “A social and political crisis of this scale can only be resolved by giving citizens a voice,” he said.
