Junts scolds Sánchez for behaving like the “ostrich” and demands that someone “open their eyes” because he will not back down
Junts accused this Saturday the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, of behaving “like the ostrich” by putting his head in the sand to think that in this way “the problem” created, in his opinion, by his party’s decision to block the legislative capacity of the Executive has disappeared. For this reason he asked that someone “open their eyes” and take it for granted that there will be no going back on the decision of Carles Puigdemont’s people. In an interview on the program Parliament From the RNE, Junts’ deputy spokesperson in Congress, Josep Maria Cruset, says he does not understand that the government is trying to downplay the rupture, which, in his opinion, explains “a little” why both parties have arrived at this situation.
As explained, Junts has been warning the government for “many months” during monthly meetings in Switzerland that “things were not going as expected in a negotiating relationship between two political parties” and that the same warning was issued publicly “many times” in the Congress itself. But he denounced that the government has “systematically” committed itself to saying that this is an “exceptional” legislature for Catalonia when the reality, in Cruset’s words, is that all services that depend on the state, for example, are becoming “more precarious” every day.
