Maybe we need to learn from Trump that the essence of democracy is to tell us everything. I don’t understand what is really happening in Italy. I know there was controversy after the article published by La Verità which stated that there would be someone in the Quirinale who, on some occasions, obviously without a mandate from the Colle, would imagine that the center-right government that emerged from the vote would face unforeseen obstacles before the 2027 elections.
I don’t think the government is really risking a coup or anything like that. But I believe that democracies should learn from the US, and from the Donald who everyone is attacking because they still don’t understand why, when faced with the Epstein case, he decided to let Congress vote for the publication of the documents and therefore for absolute transparency.
Well, I’m sure no one in the Quirinale is plotting against the government, but what is missing to close the matter is that the Italian people are aware that, in this country, whatever is ultimately shown to them and the decisions that are left to them. Also because if the left doesn’t start imagining that the only way to govern the country is to win elections after 2007, the year the Democratic Party was founded, any other hypothesis will backfire.
