Fire in Lippstadt: Witnesses want to warn residents of the apartment building

A witness saw smoke coming from an apartment building Monday evening, police said. The 60-year-old man ran into the building to warn residents of the fire. He also kicked the door of the 58 year old man’s apartment.

However, the fire was coming from inside the apartment, so he turned around and called the emergency number. Firefighters found the 58-year-old resident dead in the firehouse apartment. The man died at the scene despite resuscitation efforts.
