Little Ludovica died a few hours later

BORGO VALBELLUNA – They accompanied their two year old daughter toHOSPITAL from Feltre (Belluno) worried about some strange respiratory symptoms. After a visit and a series of in-depth investigations, the pediatrician on duty reassured them and sent them home.

But little Ludovica died a few hours later in the arms of her family due to sudden onset of shortness of breath, which is currently unexplained. A major tragedy befell a family in the province of Belluno who has been in despair since Friday.

CONCERNS

There girlwho is only two years old, has been experiencing respiratory problems for several days. Runny nose, cough and slight shortness of breath. Initially his parents thought it was caused by a seasonal illness. In this period, in fact there were many flu cases which forced many children to go home. However, at some point, the situation got worse, prompting the parents, on Friday evening, to take the little girl to the emergency room of Santa Maria del Prato in Feltre to make sure there were no complications considering the little girl’s young age.

RACE TO THE HOSPITAL

Once they arrived at the emergency department in Feltre and completed the procedure, as usual the family was invited to reach the pediatrics department to have the child treated by a specialist. On arrival at the ward, the little girl was examined and all tests and examinations deemed appropriate by the doctor based on the clinical picture were carried out.

At the end of all the in-depth investigations and considering the general condition of the little girl, which did not seem to indicate any critical problems, the pediatrician decided to discharge the little girl and send her home with therapy to follow and with the foresight to monitor the situation. It is conceivable that before them the doctors had a little girl with good oxygenation and stable parameters, otherwise they would not have chosen to send her home rather than hospitalize her for observation.

NIGHTMARE

Reassured by the Pediatrician’s positive diagnosis, the family returned home more peacefully. However, a few hours later, the irreparable happened: the little girl became very depressed and suffered from a very severe and sudden illness. Panic in the house, calls to 118 and the rush of Feltre’s hospital ambulance to the house did not help prevent the worst. The doctors tried everything, did everything they could to save the little girl’s life, but there was nothing more that could be done for the little girl. His little heart stopped beating, leaving in despair a family unit that until just hours before had lived that small, gentle presence with great joy. News of the two-year-old girl’s death spread on Monday, plunging the Borgo Valbelluna community, where the family is known, into the deepest despair.
