Italy lost 1-3 against Norway today, Sunday 16 November in Milan on the final day of Group I qualifying for the 2026 World Cup which took place in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The Azzurri have 18 points, Norway leads the standings with 21 points with a much better goal difference. Italy must win by 9 goals to get first place and qualify directly for the World Cup. Second place forced them to play the playoffs.
The draw for playoff pairs is scheduled for Thursday November 21 at 1pm in Zurich.
