In Magdeburg, two people overturned a boat on Lake Neustadt and were thrown overboard firefighter has been saved. One person was near the shore, the other was clinging to the capsized boat, the fire department said. There is no further information regarding the cause of the accident.
According to the fire department, the water temperature was between six and eight degrees. Two injured people were taken to hospital with severe hypothermia.
Emergency services thanked two people providing instructions near the crash site. “This allows firefighters to gain valuable time to rescue those who capsize.” Both helpers made significant contributions in saving the lives of those who capsized.
