If it is true that journalism looks to the future, the countdown to a new adventure has begun. In fact, from December 12, the second Master in Journalism and Media Communication will begin, named after Paolo Graldi – the prestigious signature and director of Messaggero and Mattino – and organized by Il Messaggero and Unimarconi. After the interest generated by the Open Day held last Saturday in the multimedia room of the Rome newspaper – in which many aspiring journalists participated both live and via streaming – registration continues, open to everyone who wants to enter the world of quality information.
MEMORY
This time also the course will be an opportunity to remember Luca Cifoni, one of the most authoritative exponents of Italian economic journalism, protagonist of a long career at the newspaper via del Tritone. Precisely to honor his memory, the Board of Cida Bank Italy has decided to provide a new scholarship named after him which will cover the entire cost of participation for the Master. This scholarship, the announcement of which was published on the Unimarconi university website, is in addition to two scholarships already provided by Società Autostrade per l’Italia named after the historic manager Fedele Cova and two scholarships already provided by the Lottomatica Foundation, also named after Luca Cifoni. The difference between these four scholarships compared to Syndirettivo-CIDA Bankitalia is that they cover half of the Master’s registration fee, which is set at 4,500 euros for the whole year.
THEORY AND PRACTICE
The entire course will equip participants with the tools to navigate changing communications. For this reason, the Academy aims to create a direct link between students and the most authoritative professionals in Messaggero and the other newspapers of the Caltagirone Editore group (Il Mattino, Il Gazzettino, Il Corriere Adriatico, Il Quotidiano di Puglia and Leggo), with an educational method that aims to transfer the basic ideas of the journalistic profession but not only. The course will touch on all specialist sectors, from traditional crime and justice reporting to the most advanced digital communications techniques, from web journalism to news broadcasts on social media and investigative podcasts as well as techniques for the use of artificial intelligence. In addition to the educational part, workshops are also planned with prestigious writers from other newspapers and with representatives of institutions and the business world. In addition, during the internship scheduled in the middle of the educational track, students will be able to live formative experiences of life in an editorial office.
ALL INFORMATION
The Master Formula – which can be viewed on the websites www.ilmessaggero.it and www.unimarconi.it – is designed to maximize the number of participants, also benefiting those who do not live in the capital and who would have difficulty attending lessons in person and carrying out an internship in Rome. Therefore, the frontal lessons can also be accessed live streaming for those who wish to connect from all over Italy, while the internship can be carried out in one of the thirty editorial offices of Il Messaggero, Il Gazzettino, Il Mattino, Il Corriere Adriatico, Il Quotidiano di Puglia and Leggo, distributed in Lazio, Lombardy, Veneto, Marche, Abruzzo, Umbria, Campania and Puglia. This course, which allows you to obtain a university diploma and 60 training credits, will last one year and is accessible to anyone with a three-year degree.
In short, it will be a high-level training course, also certified by the experience of a first Master’s degree. Most of the participants in the Master’s course that started last year and have not yet finished have already started collaborating with Il Messaggero or with other newspapers in the group, laying the foundations for a professional path that could lead them towards a future yet to be written.
