There is a stir at the DFB: Karim Adeyemi is now said to have received a penalty notice for possession of an illegal weapon. According to media reports, police found two prohibited items on the BVB star.

Karim Adeyemi missed the 2-0 (0-0) win at overseas side Luxembourg on Friday evening due to a yellow card suspension. Now the DFB star is making headlines outside the football field: According to media reports, the Borussia Dortmund striker is said to have received a penalty notice. The reason: illegal possession of weapons. Neither Adeyemi himself, the German national team nor BVB have commented on this matter.

As the newspaper “Bild” wrote, the 23-year-old is said to have received a penalty order “a few weeks ago”. Therefore, the police were able to detect two prohibited items on Adeyemi – brass knuckles and a Taser, which in technical language is known as an electrical impulse device.

Public prosecutor Hagen took over the case. Senior public prosecutor Michael Burggräf confirmed the criminal order against the 23-year-old professional player to the newspaper: “It was issued by the district court in Wetter and is legally binding on 30 October 2025.”

Adeyemi only got a fine, not prison

German weapons law prohibits the possession, acquisition and carrying of brass knuckles in accordance with Appendix 2, Part 1, Number 1.3.2. Violations may result in criminal consequences. Likewise with Tasers for individuals since April 1 2008. Violations can result in fines or even prison sentences of up to three years. Using brass knuckles can result in up to ten years in prison.

According to the report, the prosecutor’s office in the Adeyemi case imposed a penalty: the Dortmund player must now pay 450,000 euros to the state treasury. The DFB star will be listed in the Federal Central Register, but will not be considered to have a criminal record as he receives 60 daily rates with payments and no more than 90. This also eliminates the need for public hearings.

Adeyemi, who is in a relationship with rapper Loredana, has been attracting attention with her powerful performances in recent months. He will be available again to national coach Julian Nagelsmann following his suspension on Monday in the DFB’s World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.
