Météo-France put Drôme and Ardèche on orange alert for rain and flooding on Sunday morning

The Drôme and Ardèche departments will be on orange alert for rain and flood risk on Sunday morning, Météo-France announced on Saturday, November 15.

After an orange alert hit the Loire, Rhône and Ardèche on Saturday – lifted early in the afternoon with no significant damage reported – a “recent rains and storms in the southeast of the country” is expected on Sunday, especially in the Rhône valley, according to the latest bulletin from the weather forecast agency. The region remains under the influence of very light air masses throughout the season, explains Météo-France.

An orange alert is planned for 6am to noon in Drôme and Ardèche. The rain will become heavier in the morning, and locally it will be stormy, with “moderate risk of electrical phenomena and small hail” And “risk of localized water runoff and flooding, particularly in the Rhône valley”continuing the newsletter.

The heaviest rainfall will then shift towards the Alps in the early afternoon, Météo-France predicted.
